Dieter Fabig

Dieter was born
in Breslau in 1944 and grew up in Hamburg where he received
his education. He arrived in Australia in 1968 and worked as a
painter and decorator, and married Finish born Saara in 1970
and has three children. Dieter started his own business in
1973.
1975 – 1977 executive member of the SA German Association
1977 – 1980 and 1983 – 1990 President of the SA German
Association
1980 – 1982 part – time commissioner at SA Ethnic Affairs
Commission
1981 – 1983 Vice-President of the multicultural council.
Since 1981 Dieter is a member and programmer with the German
voice at 5EBI/FM and since 2005 he is Chairman of this group.
For his service to the Community he was awarded the Medal of
the Order of Australia (OAM) in 1989 and the
Bundesverdienstkreuz in 1991. |
