Chor Alpenfrieden

Rehearsal: On Tuesdays 7.30pm
Chor Alpenfrieden is an Austrian mixed choir. In 2005
we
celebrated our 25th Anniversary. The choir has at the present
moment 17 active members, and we are always looking for more singers
to join our group. The choir was founded with the aim to promote the
rich Heritage of our Austrian Folk music, which includes music from
all the provinces of Austria including the Capital of Austria,
Vienna. Through the years "Alpenfrieden" has in conjunction with
other Choirs performed Mozart, Vivaldi and other great composers and
found the experience musically very uplifting and satisfying.
In October 2008 the Choir Alpenfrieden took part in
the 14th
Sängerfest in Adelaide, which as always will be an exiting weekend for all the
German speaking Choirs in Australia.
Mr. Peter Ruys is our conductor. He is a highly valued musician with
many years of experience in conducting German speaking choirs and
others.
I hope that this will give the readers a fair idea what the choir is
about, and just maybe encourages some of you song birds to join us.
Our practises are held at the Austrian Association Club Rooms on Tuesday
night at 7.30pm.
